SEASONAL & DIY- November 3rd

Seasonal and DIY: Lily Johnson and Allison McGarity

Pumpkins, colored leaves, spices, and bonfires are all fun parts of this time of year. Lots of students have been going to corn mazes, haunted houses, hayrides, costume parties, and are excited about school breaks. During these school breaks, many families travel all over to experience the beautiful fall weather in different places. Some people go to the mountains to see the beautiful colors of the leaves changing; some people go to visit family, and some people stay at home to relax. The fall season is a fun and beautiful time everyone can enjoy.

Another fall favorite is the food! Many students and their families love to cook and bake during this season. Foods such as casseroles, pies, and cookies are some favorites in most households. A lot of these foods are staples for Thanksgiving dinner. One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving dinner is green bean casserole and sweet potato pie. Who doesn’t love to eat and get together with family and friends?

Get outside and enjoy fall as the weather gets cooler. You can finally put on that sweatshirt you’ve been saving for a cool day. Make plans with your friends to get together to enjoy being with those you love! Christmas will be here sooner than you think! Let us know what you love to do during fall!

It’s almost Halloween time!! As Halloween gets closer, everyone is in need of some cute DIY ideas to help add some festivity to your Halloween celebrations. These adorable “Witch Hat Cupcakes” will be perfect for any Halloween party or celebration! “Witch Hat Cupcakes” are super cute and simple. Here a list of supplies needed to make them:

  1. Halloween cupcake liners

  2. Chocolate cupcake batter

  3. Green Icing

  4. Oreos

  5. Orange icing

  6. Fall mix sprinkles

  7. Hershey Kisses

To begin, you will need to bake the chocolate cupcakes for 15-20 minutes. Once you let them cool off completely, you will apply the green icing on top of the cupcake. Second, you will place the top of an Oreo on the green icing. Third, you will put a small portion of orange icing. Fourth, you will place a Hershey Kiss on top of the cupcake. Lastly, you will sprinkle sprinkles on the orange icing.

Now, when you can't think of anything to make for Halloween, you now have the perfect idea! I hope your family has an awesome time this Halloween!
