CARSON: Welcome back Marietta, you're watching Blue Devil News. My name is Carson Shearer.
ELIJAH: I'm Elijah Thornhill.
BOTH: And you're watching Good Morning Marietta.
CARSON: Today is March 12th, and it is an exciting day for our little school news show' we are hopefully going to be taking a live shot from our group in Washington, D.C.
ELIJAH: Wow, that is really cool. How are we pulling that off? Satellite feed? Microwave truck?
ELIJAH: That's slightly less impressive.
CARSON: No, it's pretty cool. If it works. If it doesn't work we are just going to sit here and stare at the camera for two solid minutes.
ELIJAH: Definitely hoping that it works then.
CARSON: Yeah, me too.
ELIJAH: Well, let's go ahead and get to the Pledge and Moment of Silence' which actually features a Washington, D.C. favorite' the Cherry Blossom tree.
BOTH: I pledge allegiance' to the flag' of the United States of America' and to the republic' for which it stands' one nation' under God' indivisible' with liberty and justice for all.
CARSON: Thank you and you may be seated.
CARSON: Well, Elijah' It has come to the moment of truth.
ELIJAH: I choose 'dare'.
CARSON: No, we aren't playing a game. I mean, it has come to the part of the show where we are going to try and take a live feed, into our hit-or-miss equipment and bring you a portion of the broadcast from Washington, D.C.
ELIJAH: Then I choose 'truth'.
CARSON: I'm not sure that you're picking up what I'm laying down. Anyway' as many of you know, here at MHS there is an annual trip to our nation's capital, currently members of our 2022 freshman class are taking the venture
ELIJAH: Oh, now I'm tracking with you.
CARSON: Good. And we thought it would be cool if we could see what they are up to right now. I'm not good with time zones, but I believe D-C is three and a half hours ahead of us. Rebecca' how are things this afternoon? How was lunch?
CARSON: That was fantastic. I'm very excited to be a part of a morning show that was brave enough to try something like this.
ELIJAH: Absolutely, Carson. And to be a part of a school that does so many incredible activities.
CARSON: You know' we should have asked them what the weather was like up there. It looked pretty chilly.
ELIJAH: I'm more concerned with our crazy weather. Let's check-in with Barry to see what's headed our way.
ELIJAH: Thank you, Barry. I guess I'll try to enjoy today and tomorrow before I need to rent Noah's ark again.
CARSON: It has been a rainy few months. Oh well' let's see what's going on around Marietta.
ELIJAH: This Wednesday, our annual Pennies for Patients basketball game will be played in the gym at 9 AM. Bring your money to support this fantastic cause. Here's more about what difference you'll be making with your contribution.
CARSON: Everyone, please bring any amount of money that you can. No amount is too small. If you're thinking that you might throw a penny in just to be a jerk and prove us wrong' do it. That might just be the difference in giving someone another day with their family.
ELIJAH: Now, let's dive into some other good news'
Please join us in congratulating swimmers Chris Castaldo and Alex Le for making the Cobb Swim Coaches All-County Team! Congratulations on a fantastic season!
CARSON: How many of you want to take part in a movie screening and actually have valued discussion about the topics and themes of the film? What if those themes apply directly to you? Here's a closer look at this insightful documentary.

Following the film there will be an informative panel discussion with special guests. Free tickets are available now and seating is limited. This film is appropriate for ages 10 years old and up.
