Book Review- Goosebumps: Welcome to Dead House
Book review: Taylor Smith
It’s that time of the year when people bring out the pumpkins, creepy decorations, and spooky costumes. It’s Halloween! For this week’s article I chose to do mine over the Goosebumps series to incorporate Halloween.
Goosebumps is a series of creepy stories many of us heard about or read throughout elementary school. The series started off with the book, “Goosebumps: Welcome to the Dead house”, in July 1992. The book follows Amanda and Josh Benson, who move with their parents into a creepy old house located in the strange town of Dark Falls where people are unlike any they have known before. Amanda keeps seeing other children in her home and hearing strange sounds. Also, the friends she makes all seem a little different. It is later revealed that the children are all dead, having been murdered when they lived in that house. The ending isn’t much of a surprise for the reader. Josh ends up saving his sister after a disastrous event towards the end of the book, and they make their escape.
This book would be perfect for anyone wanting to find a new spooky book to read, especially around Halloween!
