Saturday in Athens
Saturday in Athens: Gracie Page
It’s fall, y’all, and we all know what that means! It’s time for Saturdays in Athens. The Georgia Bulldawgs took the field for the first time this season and ended the game with a victory over Appalachian State. Aside from the game day festivities, our very own Blue Devil Majorettes took part in their own gameday activity.
This past Saturday, September 2, UGA Auxiliary hosted their annual Auxiliary Day. Majorettes, Color Guard, and dancers from across the country can come and practice with the UGA Redcoat Marching Band and perform at half-time. Each participant is given a t-shirt, as well as a full game day experience. Auxiliary are able to watch the Dawg Walk, tour the Tate Center, and participate in many other things that the University of Georgia has to offer.
Our very own majorettes performed their routines to “Let It Go” and “Devil With the Blue Dress” from their half-time and pre-game shows. They fit these routines to one of the Redcoat’s songs from their 2017 show. The majorettes enjoyed spending the day in Athens and performing in the best stadium in Georgia-- aside from the Granite Bowl, of course!
