Football Summer Camp Starts
As with all teams that hit the field Monday, there was no physical contact. After four non-contact days, hitting starts Friday. On Monday, the Mustangs worked out in shorts with no football equipment on. They will put on helmets Wednesday.
"We showed up today ready to go. I was excited," said Welder, whose team is in Class AAA this season and, for the third straight year, started practice early in August. "The last few years, it just seemed like we got more out of that extra week in the fall. They remembered more. It's worked out good for us."
There seems to be more incentive for the players starting the fifth of September.
