Volunteers Needed for Tampa Bay Salt Marsh Planting Nov. 22

11-22-14 Salt Marsh Planting at Rock Ponds- FREE

Tampa Bay Watch is recruiting 400 volunteers to plant salt marsh to restore the Rock Ponds which is near Ruskin, just north of Port Manatee on Saturday, November 22 from 9am - noon. Salt marsh planting projects are an environmental tool for restoring lost coastal habitat. Read more on salt marsh restoration by visiting our webpage:

Information for registered volunteers:

    The physical address for the project is 4480 County Line Road, Palmetto, Florida 34221. Driving directions will be emailed to registered volunteers about one week before the event.
    This is a very muddy project, you will get dirty! You'll need to wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty.
    Remember to wear shoes that tie to your feet. Do not wear flip flops or crocs.
    Bring a towel to dry off, a change of clothes, and a plastic bag to put your wet shoes in when finished.
    Please bring a water bottle to fill up and carry with you. There will be coolers full of water, but they will be scattered throughout the site.
    Wear a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and bring garden gloves.
