Harrison Miracle Dance

by Madison Maynard

Harrison students, the Kennesaw community, and UGA scholars gathered at Harrison High School for the Harrison Miracle dance, to raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, on Friday January 12th. The event, orchestrated by UGA, consisted of dancing, lively music, and the goal to raise money for CHOA. Junior Elizabeth Elsey said “the dancing was super fun and amazing when we realized how much money we raised for such a good cause.” Senior Sara Pepper agrees: “The whole night was about raising money. We did not think we’d raise over two thousand dollars. It was crazy!”

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is family based and family centered. Children’s is dedicated to seeking new treatments, medical techniques, and methods of care to improve the health of children. UGA Miracle was started by Hoya alumnus Ben Barfield. All money raised goes straight towards the miracle children of CHOA. The connection to Harrison has helped so many kids, families, and patients alike.

The dance was phenomenal thanks to generous donations, the Barfield family, the University of Georgia and the overwhelming support from everyone. The UGA Miracle club thanks everyone who befriended the night.
