Richard Steinberg was elected to a 4-year term commencing January 2012. Mr. Steinberg brings his 40-year background in Business and Economic Development to the City of Stockbridge. He has held senior management positions of responsibility in multinational companies with expertise in areas such as marketing, consumer insights, market research, strategic planning, new business development, corporate introductions, tourism and more! Mr. Steinberg has completed 72-hours of continuing education for elected officials; having received both a Certificate of Recognition (June 2013) and a Certificate of Achievement (Jan 2014) from the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). He has also completed training in Crises Leadership and Decision Making under the auspices of Texas A&M University. During 2013, Mr. Steinberg served City Council and the City of Stockbridge in the capacity of Mayor Pro Tem. In this role, he participated in numerous meetings, functions and events which impacted our City. His leadership capabilities were further recognized by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) where he was appointed to a two-year term on their prestigious Environment and Land Use Committee. Mr. Steinberg is an ardent supporter of youth in our community. He has participated in the 24th National African American Read-In, he has mentored students at both Stockbridge High School and Patrick Henry High School and he has participated for several years in Henry County Board of Education member Erik Charles' "Back to School" program. Mr. Steinberg is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
